Re-Imagine Claiborne

Urban design concepts followed by a series of community workshops to gather feedback for a proposal to remove an elevated expressway in New Orleans.

On July 10th, 2021 in New Orleans' Tremé neighborhood we hosted our first community workshop with the Claiborne Avenue Alliance at a local high school next to Louis Armstrong Park. It was an opportunity for the project team to gather feedback from the community for a proposal to remove an elevated expressway. Alongside curious community members, we had the opportunity to engage in a discussion on the future of the Claiborne Boulevard with the mayor of New Orleans. Since then, we've organized two additional public workshops and hosted more than 75 community members along with local elected officials.
